What is LetsChess?
LetsChess is a massively multiplayer online chess game where players from around the world compete on a giant shared chess board. Unlike traditional chess where two players face off on a single board, LetsChess puts everyone on the same enormous 64x64 board, creating a chaotic and exciting new twist on the classic game.
Each player controls their own set of chess pieces and must navigate the crowded board, forming alliances, executing strategies, and ultimately trying to capture other players' kings while protecting their own.
The massive board, real-time gameplay, and multiplayer aspect transform chess into a completely new experience while still maintaining the strategic depth of the original game.

Our Inspiration
LetsChess was inspired by a fascinating concept introduced by the YouTuber "Serum" in their video 10,000 Player Chess.
How to Play
Playing LetsChess is easy - just sign up for an account and jump into the game! You'll start with a standard set of chess pieces. Move your pieces according to standard chess rules, with a few modifications to accommodate the multiplayer aspect:
- Each move has a short cooldown to prevent spamming
- Pawns can move in any direction (one square at a time)
- You can capture any other player's pieces (not just one opponent)
- If your king is captured, you'll briefly respawn after a short delay
Use WASD or arrow keys to navigate the board. You can also use the mouse wheel to zoom in and out, and hold shift for faster camera movement.
